Forest Beach Migratory Preserve

*Images coming soon*

In September 2019 I was granted a yearlong residency at Forest Beach Migratory Preserve in Wisconsin as part of the ArtServancy Program sponsored by Gallery 224 in Port Washington, WI. In March 2020 the Covid 19 Pandemic hit and a Safer In Order was issued by Wisconsin Governor, Tony Evers, curtailing travel outside our immediate area for several months. The preserve served as a wonderful respite from the stress of the pandemic and provided an offer of renewal and hope. Since growing up in rural Maine and enjoying the natural landscape around my home, nature has always been a way to restore my spirit. During the pandemic year I found comfort in the fact that nature endured and the seasons continued as they always have, snow blanketing the prairie, peeper frogs serenading ponds in spring, wildflowers blooming in summer and birds migrating in fall. The residency culminated in a solo show in March 2021 at Gallery 224 and some of the images are available through their website. https://www.gallery224.org/vicki-reed
