Mystery Path (Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve)

Fall on the Creek (Cedar Pond, Cedarburg, WI )
Archival Print on Vellum with applied yellow gold leaf
The exhibit will feature the work of four artists who live on Columbia Rd in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Patick Doughman, Bruce Hustad, Tom Kubala, and Vicki Reed. Vicki's eleven archival prints on vellum with applied gold leaf will feature two of her favorite places, Lion’s Den Gorge Nature Preserve and Cedar Creek. Though she has lived close to them and photographed them for 30 years, they never cease to inspire her.
"Two of my images in the exhibit are of landscapes that no longer exist. Recently the EPA oversaw a clean up of Columbia Pond (part of Cedar Creek) that was tainted with PCBs. The pond was dredged and topsoil on frequently flood areas was removed as well as many of the trees on the shoreline. The park has been redesigned with a new landscape and I look forward to it being reopened so I can discover new views. Though I mourn the loss of favorite trees I came to think of as friends, I appreciate the fact that the creek and pond will be healthy once again. "
